Whilton Mill witnessed an exhilarating display of skill and sportsmanship as the Ginetta Team claimed victory at the highly anticipated 2023 Motormouth Charity Kart Race on June 20th.
The annual charity event brought together a range of star entries. These included Formula One teams, former BTCC drivers, GT champions and celebrity start guests. All gathered together to raise funds for The Brain Tumour Charity and Movember Foundation.
The fantastic four-driver entry included Ginetta Junior and Karting talents, Brea Angliss and Henry Joslyn who traded their racing cars back to Karts for the day to compete in the 2.5-hour endurance race. LMP3 Champion and Ginetta Factory Driver, Charlie Robertson joined forces with Motorsport Manager, Mike Simpson to complete the prize-winning team.
In the opening hours of the event, Mike Simpson piloted passenger lap rides in the Ginetta GTR around the international kart circuit at Whilton Mill in Daventry. He also displayed the road legal race car alongside a selection of supercars in the paddock.
Ginetta team’s superior race strategy and expertise in navigating the challenging Whilton Mill International circuit became apparent over the endurance stint. Their flawless execution of pit stops, and quick driver rotations ensured they maintained a consistent pace, further solidifying their position at the top.
Ginetta rivalled Aston Martin’s Formula One team down to the final lap of the race. It was European Junior Karting Vice Champion and 2023 Ginetta Junior driver, Henry Joslyn who crossed the finish line on lap 149 to secure their well-deserved victory by 2.699 seconds.

Words from Brea Anglis
Brea Angliss, said: “It was great to be part of the winning Ginetta team. We had both youth and experience on the track. Learning from Mike and Charlie’s wealth of knowledge and experience on how they approached their time on track, complete with overtaking and defending when needed will hopefully serve me well in the future.“
“A fantastic effort all round, including our management team consisting of Jamie Robinson, Kevin and Blake Angliss. We all cheered when Henry brought our team home in style crossing the line in first place. Overall, it was an awesome day’s racing while raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity and Movember Foundation.”
