Assetto Motorsport have signed a fourth driver for their 2021 Ginetta Junior Championship campaign as Jamie Osborne returns to the series.

Assetto Motorsport Sign Ginetta Junior Returnee Jamie Osborne

Osborne, younger brother of BTCC driver Sam, previously competed in the Juniors with WDE Motorsport back in 2018. The Sheffield based racer enjoyed a strong rookie season and scored a best result of tenth overall at Oulton Park.

After taking some time away from the championship, Osborne is ready to get back on track and is aiming to work on the progress he made back in 2018. He joins second year driver Joe Wheeler and fellow rookies Maxwell Dodds and Harri Reynolds in the Assetto entry.

Jim Edwards, team manager: “I have known the Osborne family for a few years, as Sam was a Clio Cup regular and team-mate to my daughter Jade. I always kept an eye on Jamie’s progress and I’m delighted to bring him into our team. I am confident that his previous Ginetta experience and testing programme with us will lead to great results in 2021.”

The Ginetta Junior Championship is the UK’s longest running and most prestigious Junior series, offering the first step on the motorsport ladder for 14-17 year old racing drivers as they compete on the support bill for the British Touring Car Championship.
