The Ipswich-based team are set for their busiest season in Ginetta competition so far, having already announced a third consecutive year in the GT5 Challenge with Magnus Kriklywi and Nat Hodgkiss, as well as a return to the Junior grid with Jacob Hodgkiss.
Warr teams up with Race Car Consultants for the first time as he makes his Ginetta debut. He’s a familiar name in the BTCC support paddock, having previously contested two seasons in the Renault UK Clio Cup and scoring a best finish of fourth place.
After sitting out the 2020 campaign, Warr got behind the wheel of a Ginetta G55 GT4 for the first time at a sampler day late last year and having enjoyed the experience, he’s acquired the car taken to two race wins last year by Jamie Falvey.
Luke Warr: “After the Clio Cup BTCC support series ended, I was looking for a new challenge and the GT4 SuperCup has always looked like an awesome series. After testing a G55 at the end of 2020, I knew this was what I wanted to do for my 2021 season.
“Finding the Race Car Consultants team with Ginetta experience on my doorstep has meant things are really starting to fall into place. I can’t wait for the season to start.”
David Ellesley, Team Owner: “I am delighted to welcome Luke into the Race Car Consultants driver line-up for 2021. The GT4 SuperCup grid is looking like a great place to be this year and is clearly a good option for new drivers looking to enter the top tier of Ginetta’s ladder.
“It’s amazing how small the motorsport community is, with Luke living just 2 minutes from RCC HQ, it seemed like a great idea for us to team up for a GT4 SuperCup campaign. His two seasons experience in the action-packed Clio Cup is sure to come in useful with the competitive nature of Ginetta racing.
“As a team, we’re now represented across three Ginetta championships; Juniors, GT5 Challenge and GT4 SuperCup. This is excellent for everyone involved.”
The Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship. In 2021, the series will be contested over eight race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship.
