A hugely experienced team in national motorsport across tin-top and GT competition, Maximum Motorsport are a welcome addition to the GT4 SuperCup paddock with team boss Stewart Lines and rising star Lee Deegan piloting their Ginetta G55 GT4’s.
Lines (pictured) is a former British Touring Car Championship driver who has most recently competed in TCR racing in the UK and Europe. He splits his time between driving and overseeing Maximum Motorsport’s roles as race team and championship organisers.
Stewart Lines: “It will be great to go back racing again. Our commitment in running multiple race series makes it difficult for me to participate on track as well, so this is an ideal opportunity for me to get behind the wheel and I’m looking forward to it.
“I have picked my team-mate carefully as I think it’s important to have someone that’s quick and is capable of winning overall honours. Maximum Motorsport have previously had success on the TOCA package in the BTCC and the Clio Cup, so for 2020 we aim to do a similar job.”
Ginetta debutant Deegan meanwhile is an exciting prospect, having been voted Autosport magazine’s Top Club Driver of 2019 after a dominant second title victory in the BRSCC Civic Cup. He also took race victories in Mini Miglias and the MRF 1600 Challenge single-seater series in India.
Lee Deegan: “Joining a team like Maximum Motorsport is something we have been working towards for many seasons now. We have had some great success in tin-top racing and now it’s time to see how far we can push ourselves with a new challenge.
“Although the GT4 SuperCup is a new championship for me, we have had a test at Blyton Park in a Ginetta G55 and I felt very comfortable with how the car reacts and was able to push from the start. I look forward to getting on track and seeing what we can achieve this season.”
