King will join Egor Orudzhev and Ben Hanley in the teams’ #5 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 LMP1 car with the sister #6 Ginetta seeing an unchanged line-up from Fuji last time out: Ginetta factory drivers Charlie Robertson and Mike Simpson again set to be joined by 2003 Le Mans 24 Hours winner Guy Smith.
GP2 race-winner Jordan King already has FIA WEC experience on his cv, a three race spell last season saw him score an LMP2 class win at Sebring with Jackie Chan DC Racing.
“We’re delighted to welcome Jordan to the team,” said Team LNT Team Principal and Ginetta Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson.
“His record clearly shows he has speed, and the Ginetta has plenty of that to offer to him. A very quick British driver in a very quick British car on a circuit that should again see the real pace of LMP1 on display.
We’ll be looking to all of our drivers to take the fight to the opposition in China.”
Jordan King said:
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to come back to the WEC, and even more delighted that it is in LMP1 with the Ginetta AER. I’ve been watching their efforts closely in the early part of the season and it is very clear that the re is massive potential here.
“I hope I can help them to unlock even more of that in Shanghai.
The 4 Hours of Shanghai gets underway on 10 November.
