Ginetta Junior Title Battle Intensifies Heading Into Donington Park

Ginetta Junior Title Battle Intensifies Heading Into Donington Park

Last time out at Silverstone was a weekend to remember with action up and down the grid for all three races. This weekend the Ginetta Junior Championship lines up at Donington Park.

With three classes in Ginetta Junior Series to watch out for, there’s plenty of action up and down the grid!

Proving that consistency is key, Charlie Hart (Elite Motorsport) leads the championship without having won a race. Five second place finishes so far this season has helped him take the top spot. Still on the hunt for his first win, can Donington Park be the winning weekend for Hart?

Teammate Isaac Phelps sits in 2nd overall and with two overall wins to his name, Phelps looks for more at Donington. Nickolas Ellis took three top ten finishes whilst Archie Clark achieved another rookie podium finish. Max Cuthbert looks for better form at Donington whilst Ruben Dan looks to add to his podium streak.

A team change for Chase Fernandez as he joins reigning team champions R Racing from E3 Sport. Last time at Donington, Chase won the final race of the season. The leading R Racing driver, Ethan Jeff-Hall, secured another overall win and two class podiums at Silverstone keeping him third in the standings.

R Racing’s Marcus Saeter took his maiden win at Silverstone. Teammate Harry Moss spent Silverstone climbing back up the grid. He managed to overtake 14 cars to finish 11th in the final race and Tom Ingram Hill finished the weekend with a top 10. Alife Salter’s first race weekend only saw him complete one race after two DNFs. In the race he did finish, he had good pace finishing just behind the top ten.

In the Freshman Cup class, Torrin Byrne (Pace Performance) has pulled ahead in the points with three class wins, helped by a mechanical DNF for Peters. However, with Jude Peter’s (E3 Sport) form in the final race, making up 10 places from last, we can expect the two to be on equal footing going into Donington Park.

James Shotton (Fox Motorsport) achieved his first class win, adding a class podium to round off the weekend. Jack Robinson secured three Freshman class podiums as he looks for more silverware at Silverstone. Alongside Robinson, Colin Cronin, and Holly Miall return to the grid this weekend.

Henry Joslyn (Preptech UK) took his maiden Ginetta victory at Silverstone. The returning junior sits fourth in the championship, looking to make the most of Donington after a rough start to the season. Teammate Alfie Davies climbed 6 places in the final race at Silverstone. He’ll be looking to return to the top 10. American rookie Ethan Carney will also be returning to the grid at Donington Park.

MDD Racing’s Felix Livesey had a rough weekend at Silverstone. He’ll be looking to turn his form around and secure more top 10 finishes. Teammates Jovarni Cassell Joseph and James Ellis will be returning to the grid for Donington Park.

Pace Performance’s Newcomers Ntiyiso and Mahlori Mabunda look forward to their second Ginetta race event after Ntiyiso achieved a Freshman class podium.
