Ginetta are making a key step forward in the race development programme for the new Ginetta G56 GT2 in the Middle East this month, starting with an impressive performance in the Abu Dhabi 6 Hours last week.
The opening endurance race event of 2026 provided the perfect opportunity for Ginetta to resume their comprehensive development programme with the new car, building on some fantastic progress made last year including a trophy-laden race debut in the GT2 European Series.
Focusing on building development mileage during race events, the Abu Dhabi 6H event served up over 20 hours of on-track running in a competitive environment. In the hands of Mike Simpson and Jack Mitchell, the G56 GT2 enjoyed a great showing against strong competition.
The Abu Dhabi outing served as the next step towards the ultimate endurance test, the Dubai 24 Hours this coming weekend. The Middle East running means the G56 GT2 will pass the important milestones of over 100 hours and 10,000km of high-level race development.
Everything learnt is being directly fed into the production cars currently in build for the 2026 GT2 European Series, with the comprehensive and meticulously-planned development programme ensuring world-class, race-ready cars will be available for delivery to customers soon.
