The Norfolk based squad are multiple title winners in Ginetta competition and their quest for further success in the GT5 Challenge this season will come from John Bennett, William Aspin, Karim Sekkat and Harry Mangion.

Bennett returns for a second consecutive season after a hugely impressive 2020 campaign. In his first year of car-racing, the 17 year old from Wiltshire was a consistent presence in the top ten and ended the year in impressive fashion with three podium finishes in the final four races.

Aspin is also set to embark on his second full season of racing as he steps up from Ginetta Juniors. The 16 year old, who’s based in Italy, enjoyed a strong debut campaign and finished in the top ten on seven occasions, with a best result of sixth at Snetterton.

Sekkat meanwhile has a wealth of experience in Ginetta racing, having started his career in GRDC and the G40 Cup. The Moroccan racer moved up to the GT5 Challenge last year and scored an Am class win at Silverstone as part of a haul of five podium finishes.

Completing Elite’s quartet is Mangion, who makes a welcome return to Ginetta competition after a season away. The 26 year old from London made his racing debut in the GRDC in 2019 and hugely impressed with two podium finishes including a win in the final race of the season.

Eddie Ives, team principal: “I’m delighted to announce our Ginetta GT5 Challenge line-up for 2021. It’s a great series for a number of reasons so it’s fantastic to return with a strong, four car line-up. John and Will have both been very fast in pre-season testing so I’m confident they will be fighting for overall wins.

“Karim finished runner-up in AM last year so the aim is to go one better. Harry is in the early days of his racing career and it’s a big step up from GRDC but he coped well in initial tests. I’m looking forward to working with all four drivers this year.”

Packed grids and close racing makes the Ginetta GT5 Challenge a popular entry-level championship for many aspiring GT racers. In 2021, the series will compete across both British GT and British Touring Car Championship weekends, sharing a grid with the G40 Cup.
