2026 Champion: Jamie Caudle

2026 Champion: Jamie Caudle

Jamie Caudle has continued his impressive rise up the GT racing ladder this year, with a brilliant debut season in the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship culminating in his first title win in the AM class.

Caudle made the step up to the GT Championship this year after two seasons in the GT Academy. A brilliant 2025 campaign saw him take five overall wins and narrowly miss out on the GTA class title, giving him the experience and confidence to progress from the Ginetta G56 GTA to the V8-powered GTP8 iteration.

“It was more a jump than I was expecting to be honest,” said Caudle. “In particular the cornering speed, plus adapting to slick tyres and getting them ready for race starts and qualifying laps. The margin for error is so fine in the car, but that made it a brilliant challenge to get to grips with and I’ve really enjoyed it.”

A consistent AM class podium finisher from the off, the Devon-based racer secured his maiden win in round two at Oulton Park. He admits it wasn’t until the second half of the season when it really clicked for him though, starting with a standout performance at Snetterton.

A hat-trick of class wins in Norfolk ignited his title challenge, and started a sensational run of eight consecutive victories that guided him to the AM crown. He took the fight to the PRO class drivers in the process, impressively finishing in the overall top three on four occasions.

“It took me a while to really get on top of the car and I’m chuffed with how it developed,” he commented. “Snetterton is one of my favourite circuits and we were lucky to get a quiet test day there, where I had a lot of time to get into a rhythm and in tune with the car. That was a crucial day and set me up perfectly for that round and beyond.

“I couldn’t be happier to have had the ability to be on the pace with the PRO drivers by the end. They had a lot more experience of the car at the start, but I did my best to get closer to them through the season and I enjoyed getting to battle with them in the final couple of rounds.”

Caudle’s journey in the Ginetta UK Championships has seen him progress from a novice contesting his first ever races to becoming a GT champion. With that experience under his belt, he says he’s ready to take the next step in his career in 2027.

“Three years ago I’d never been on a race track in my life,” he reflected. “I had one test day just a week before my first race event, managed to stay in the top ten that weekend, and that got me hooked. I’ve managed to progress from there with the Ginetta championships ladder, and I’m hoping to take the next step now into GT4.”
