Preview: 2026 Ginetta GT Academy – Snetterton

Luis Beilicke and Tom Walker lead the class standings at the halfway point of a captivating 2026 Ginetta GT Academy season, heading into the fourth round of the year at Snetterton this weekend.

Beilicke (Want2Race) has been in exceptional form in his first year in the Ginetta paddock. The German sim-racer has won at least two races at every event so far this season, with a hat-trick at Croft last time out taking him to seven for the season and a 26-point lead in the rookie class.

Walker (E3 Sport) has the advantage in the GTA category meanwhile. Another first-time Ginetta racer this year, an excellent run of results has seen him finish in the overall top three in every race bar one. Five GTA class victories and a 100% class podium record has earnt him a 22-point advantage.

Joe Ostholthoff (Want2Race) closed the gap at the top of the GTA standings last time out at Croft though. The American single-seater convert, who secured the opening class win of the season at Silverstone, returned to the top step of the podium with a brilliant hat-trick in North Yorkshire.

Beilicke’s closest challenger in the rookie ranks meanwhile is Ian Beaumont (SVG Motorsport). The hugely successful short-oval racer has carried his pace across to Ginetta competition this year, with eight class podiums from nine races including wins at Oulton Park and Croft.

Ben Wiseman (Want2Race) is another rookie to have impressed with their pace this season, battling his way to four class podium finishes and a couple of overall top six results. Those efforts put him third in the class standings at the halfway mark of the season.

Ash Young (Performance One) has picked up a rookie class podium finish in each of the last two events at Oulton and Croft, while Faye Goff (Want2Race) – sister of current Ginetta Junior championship leader Lewis – is getting closer to her first silverware of the season.

In the GTA class, Will Fallon has been putting together a hugely-impressive season as he competes as the only privateer entrant on the grid. A double podium at Croft has taken him to five for the season so far and puts him right in the battle for third in the standings.

That position is currently held by fellow Ginetta debutant Connor Blackburn (Performance One), who has also been a regular presence in the podium battles. He’s picked up a trophy after three of the last five races, which puts him eight points ahead of Fallon at this stage.

Also lining up in the GTA class will be two of the more experienced drivers on the current grid, Allan Wright and Damien Duffy. The Want2Race team-mates are contesting their second year in the championship and will be setting their sights on their first silverware of the season.
