Antrobus And Gamble On Top In Ginetta GT Championship At Oulton Park

William Antrobus and Harry Gamble made it a triple victory for Elite Motorsport in the second round of 2026 Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship season at Oulton Park this past weekend (23-25 May).

Qualifying

Antrobus (Elite Motorsport) converted timesheet-topping pace in Friday testing into a double pole position in qualifying on Saturday. He led a hotly-contested session, which saw the top four drivers separated by less than a tenth of a second around the 2.69-mile Oulton International circuit.

James Nicholas (E3 Sport), previously a three-time race-winner in the GT Academy at Oulton Park, continued his great record at the Cheshire circuit by qualifying as the leading AM driver in second overall. Cameron Pratt-Thompson (SVG Motorsport) was third ahead of birthday boy Gamble (Elite Motorsport).

Race One

Antrobus converted pole position into the race lead off the rolling start to race one. Nicholas tucked in behind him, as Gamble made early progress to pass Pratt-Thompson. Behind, contact led to a spin for Alex Duncan (Xentek Motorsport), dropping him into the GT Academy field.

The action intensified on lap three as Nicholas and Gamble fought over second place. Contact to the rear of Nicholas sent him spinning into the gravel trap at Island, with Gamble dropping behind Pratt-Thompson and Louis Darling (Orion SPR) as the safety car came out.

Antrobus perfectly executed the restart to retain his advantage and held it to the chequered flag to win his first race since joining Elite Motorsport. Pratt-Thompson was less than a second adrift at the finish, as Darling held third to secure his first GT Championship podium finish.

Gamble took the chequered flag in fourth, however post-race he was disqualified from the result for the incident with Nicholas. Jamie Caudle (E3 Sport) was therefore promoted to fourth overall, securing the AM class victory with it.

The safety car period allowed Duncan to catch the back of the field and he fought his way back to fifth place and second in the AM’s. After a late issue for Elliot Foster (MDD Motorsport), Lucie Hodgson (Orion SPR) completed the class top three for her first trip to the GT Championship podium.

Race Two

Gamble immediately put his race one disappointment behind him on Monday morning as he swept around the outside of pole-sitter Antrobus at Old Hall to take the race lead. Pratt-Thompson maintained third, while Nicholas was missing from fourth on the grid after a mechanical issue before the start.

Felix Livesey (Orion SPR) had a tough first lap, dropping from fourth on the road to seventh behind Darling and the AM class top two Duncan and Caudle. That came just before the safety car emerged due to an incident in the GT Academy field, with the action ultimately resuming for five more racing laps.

Gamble had Antrobus and Pratt-Thompson looming large in his mirrors throughout, but he was able to control the race and secure the victory. Antrobus made it an Elite one-two, while behind Pratt-Thompson, Darling held on to fourth after late pressure from AM victor Duncan.

Livesey posted the fastest lap of the race on his way to sixth, having pulled off a move on Caudle in the second half of the race. One lap later, Caudle’s race ended in the gravel trap at the Shell Oils hairpin, which meant Foster and Hodgson ended the race with AM class silverware.

Race Three

With the grid for the final race set by the results from race two, it was an all-Elite front row of Gamble and Antrobus. While Gamble had a clear run through Old Hall for the first time, contact behind sent Antrobus across the grass which necessitated a trip to the pitlane.

Duncan took full advantage of the incident ahead to storm through to second position ahead of Livesey and Darling, with Pratt-Thompson dropping back to fifth. Once again, the race would be neutralised by the safety car at the end of lap one.

Gamble perfectly executed the restart and was able to break away from the field this time round, pulling a near three second advantage for his third win in the opening five races. Duncan put in a brilliant drive to finish second on the road, however a track limits time penalty dropped him to sixth.

A last lap move from Darling on Livesey therefore secured him second in the final result, with those two securing a double podium finish for Orion SPR. Pratt-Thompson finished fourth, with Nicholas ending his tough weekend on a high note with the AM class win ahead of Duncan.

Benefitting from the safety car allowing him to catch the back of the field after his pitstop, Antrobus was able to fight back to a seventh-place result. Foster completed the race finishers as he secured another AM podium, with Caudle and Hodgson both unfortunately not making the race start.

The Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award was won by Pratt-Thompson. He recorded the quickest racing lap of the event and a new GT Championship lap record on the Oulton Park International circuit with a 1:41.860s lap in race one.
