A great recent run of results mean William Antrobus has a shot at winning the 2026 Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship title with a weekend to spare heading into the penultimate event of the season at Donington Park this weekend (05-06 September).
Antrobus (Elite Motorsport) hit the ground running with a race victory on his debut weekend at Silverstone and he’s not looked back, impressively winning at least one race at every event so far this season and only finishing off the podium on two occasions.
He’s accelerated his title charge with dominant victory hat-tricks in each of the last two rounds at Croft and Snetterton. That run has built him a healthy lead in the points standings, meaning that a big score this weekend could well provisionally secure him the crown.
Cameron Pratt Thompson (SVG Motorsport) had gone in to Snetterton last time out level on points with Antrobus, but lost crucial ground after missing out on the podium for the first time this year. He’ll be aiming to add to his maiden victory back at Croft to take the title fight to the Brands Hatch season finale.
Reigning PRO AM victor Harry Gamble (Elite Motorsport) remains in contention to become a back-to-back Ginetta champion. He kept his title aspirations alive with a hat-trick of podium finishes at Snetterton, taking his tally to ten for the season including three victories in the early rounds.
Vladislav Tomenchuk (Elite Motorsport) is one to watch this weekend, after a brilliant debut at Snetterton. Impressing on his step up from Ginetta Juniors, he picked up a podium finish in only his second race and has his sights set on securing more silverware in the remaining rounds.
The efforts of Antrobus, Gamble and Tomenchuk mean Elite are on the verge of wrapping up the Teams’ title for the second consecutive season. In the process, they’d become nine-time Ginetta Teams’ champions alongside successes in Juniors, GT5 Challenge and GT4 SuperCup.
Louis Darling (Orion SPR) will be aiming to make a welcome return to the podium this weekend. The GT Academy graduate celebrated a pair of top three results at Oulton Park and has been right in the mix again in recent rounds, with fourth place finishes in four of the last five races.
With the surprise absences of title contenders James Nicholas and Alex Duncan from the grid this weekend, Jamie Caudle (E3 Sport) will take a big step towards the AM class crown with three strong results at Donington Park this weekend.
Caudle produced his best event of the season so far at Snetterton, securing a perfect hat-trick of class wins to finish as the highest-scoring driver in the class for the first time. After narrowly missing out on the GT Academy title last year, he could well become a Ginetta champion this time around.
Elliot Foster (MDD Motorsport) and Lucie Hodgson (Orion SPR) look set to add to their AM class podium tallies this weekend. Both have impressed with their progress in their maiden GT Championship campaigns and celebrated breakthrough podiums at Oulton Park.
