The GT5 Challenge Am class has been incredibly competitive across the three events so far, with eight different drivers having finished on the podium already. After some more twists and turns at Silverstone last time out, it’s still Harry Mangion (Elite Motorsport) atop the standings.
The former GRDC front-runner has scored three race wins, one at each event, and three further podium finishes to build a 29 point lead at the top. His closest challenger at present is Bal Sidhu (Xentek Motorsport), a race-winner back in the season opener at Thruxton.
Raceway Motorsport pairing Chris White and Paolo Santi have both picked up class victories too, at Silverstone and Brands Hatch respectively, while the experienced Phil McGarty (Xentek Motorsport) is rising up the standings courtesy of a consistent run of front-running results.
Karim Sekkat (Elite Motorsport) impressed with a double podium at Silverstone, while Mark Steel (Toro Verde GT) will be aiming to return to the podium for the first time since Thruxton. Sean Peters (Breakell Racing) re-joins the class for his second outing of the season.
Marc Warren (Raceway Motorsport) leads the way in the G40 Cup Pro category following a run of four consecutive race wins in earlier rounds, however his team-mate Thomas Holland has closed the gap at the top of the standings with a superb double victory last time out.
Nick White (MRM) is firmly in the mix too, having joined Warren in finishing every race on the podium so far, while Bren Maude (CTS Motorsport) enjoyed a visit to the rostrum at Brands Hatch. The class entry is bolstered this weekend by a first appearance of the season from Jon Curry.
Rupert Laslett (Raceway Motorsport) has been the dominant force in the G40 Cup Am class meanwhile, building a healthy points advantage courtesy of six wins from seven races so far. Andrew Willis (Privateer) is leading the chase though, having scored the other win on offer at Brands Hatch.
Brenden Haffner (Raceway Motorsport) joins Willis in having made four visits to the podium so far, whilst Peter Dilnot (Elite Motorsport) and SVG Motorsport duo Jeremy Sussex and Stephen Moore have also taken home silverware. Tony Whitney, also SVG, is back for a second outing of 2021.
