Oulton Park will see the launch of the Protyre Motorsport GT Championship season, featuring the all-new GT Pro race car

Due to the success of the Ginetta GT Academy Championship, 2023 see’s the launch of the all-new Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT championship. It will run alongside the British GT calendar. The series features the newest manufacturing offering, G56 GT Pro car. With it, we’ll deliver drivers with the next step towards topflight endurance GT racing. The car is a impressive piece of equipment lapping very close to GT4 base performance. It teaches the driver to utilise motorsport ABS and traction control systems.

The new multi car grid will see the GT5 Challenge combined with the GT Pro racers. It will be one of the UK’s leading single manufacturer championships to continue into a new age of entry level GT racing. The all-new race series promises to produce entertaining action across the grid. There will be an exciting mix of experienced and returning racers going up against new and exciting talents. All will battle it out across three races this weekend in Cheshire.

In the GTP class, five teams will be battling it out against each other. SVG Motorsport will be represented by Callum Davies, making his car-racing debut in a GTP. Callum will compete amongst the freshest talents on the grid including team rival Liona Theobald and returning front runner, Conner Garlick partnered with Xentek Motorsport.

SF Racing bring experienced GT Academy alumni Shawn Fleming and Gary Wager to the GTP class. The expanding Breakell Racing entrust promising driver Ruben Hage to their GTP line up after an impressive debut in the GT5 challenge last year, securing a top-5 result on his debut last year. He’s paired with Carl Garnett who returns from a sabbatical year in 2022 to be back racing on a Ginetta grid. The former G55 SuperCup Am driver will be one to watch for overall wins this season.

The immensely experienced Colin White will represent CWS 4×4. The reigning champion returns for 2023 after a monumental incident at Thruxton in August. He has bravely battled back from injury. Former G55 GT4 driver Luke Reade steps up to the GTP class with Wolf Motorsport. He looks to defend his Ginetta Championship winning streak in contention for his second championship title.

The GT5 grid will see experienced Am class front runner, Karim Sekkat (Breakell Racing) compete against the latest talents in the GT5 Pro class. Luke Garlick and Sam Harvey join the four- time teams’ champions, Xentek Motorsport in the search of securing a championship winning campaign. Ella Lloyd completes the team’s trio of Pro drivers in hope to bring them continued success with the successful former Ginetta G40 Junior driver. Ella will compete against the other female racer on the grid in the form of Lexie Belk who makes her Ginetta debut for Alastair Rushforth Motorsport.

Bal Sidhu and Pablo Jequier will compete the grid in GT5 Am class. Sidhu pairs with Xentek Motorsport for their fourth season racing together. Jequier teams with Race Car Consultants to make his Ginetta racing debut at Oulton Park.

The new Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship is the pinnacle platform of the single make series. It’s guaranteed to provide the closest, competitive GT racing on the calendar.
