Michael Crees Completes Raceway Motorsport Two-Car British GT Campaign

Former BTCC racer Michael Crees joins Ginetta GTA vice-champion, Thomas Holland and secures Raceway Motorsport two-car British GT Championship campaign. Hollands co-driver Crees made his Ginetta debut in 2017, dominating the GRDC Cup and GT4 SuperCup and remarkably claimed two championship titles in two years despite no previous racing history.

The Kent based driver entered the 2019 BTCC with just two years of racing under his belt, completing a three-year campaign. 2023 will see Crees make his British GT debut in the number 56 Ginetta G56 GT4 race car. Entering his third season of racing behind the wheel of a Ginetta, Crees is in contention to continue his championship winning steak.

Thomas Holland first announced his entry to this year’s Intelligent Money British GT Championship in December. Following a successful GT Academy season with Raceway Motorsport in 2022, Holland has stepped up the motorsport ladder to embark on his endurance GT journey.

Thomas Holland said; “I’ve been part of Raceway for the last two years and the whole team now feels like an extension of my family, so I’m ecstatic to be continuing my adventure with them and Ginetta in British GT,” said the 20-year-old.

“This year will be a big step in my career with a different race format, multi-class split grid and a new car in the form of the Ginetta G56 GT4. But I am confident in myself and the team that we can both push to achieve great success in British GT.”

The team secured their two-car line up with Michael Crees just one month before the season is due to commence at Oulton Park 8th April. In true Holland fashion- the number 55 driver duo will be seen in purple and chrome gold G56 GT4.

Michael Crees said; “I’m absolutely buzzing to get a deal done with Raceway Motorsport so late in the day as I honestly thought I would be sitting out this year due to some bad luck with sponsors,”.

“But I have to thank Luca [Hirst, team principal], Nigel [Holland] and Tom Holland for pulling this all together at such late notice!

Since the birth of Raceway Motorsport in 2020, Team Principal Luca Hirst and Team Manager Nicole Hirst have gone from strength to strength. Raceway’s 2023 British GT debut season is another milestone for the team, following a dominating performance across three Ginetta Championships. With 5 Championship winning drivers, the team are hopeful to fulfil their successful streak with a promising line up this season.

Raceway Motorsport recently unveiled their striking Ginetta orange, grey and chrome livery, announcing their first G56 GT4 driver line up. Behind the wheel of car number Car 56 is British GT Champion, Stuart Middleton and GT4 driver Freddie Tomlinson.

Ahead of the championship season opener on April 8th, car number 55 and 56 will make their first public appearance tomorrow at the British GT Media Day, hosted at Donington Park.
