Joe Marshall Switches To Team HARD For Ginetta GT4 SuperCup

Joe Marshall will return to the Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup this year, joining Team HARD. Racing for his second season in the series.

Joe Marshall Switches To Team HARD For Ginetta GT4 SuperCup

Formerly a multiple race-winner in the Mazda MX5 Superseries, Marshall made his Ginetta debut in the championship last season with Rob Boston Racing and immediately settled into the front-running pack en-route to a top six championship finish.

The Cheshire based racer secured no less than 14 top six Pro class finishes and narrowly missed out on the overall podium with a best result of fourth at Croft. He returns to the grid with the support of Marshall Accountancy Limited.

Joe Marshall: “I’m really looking forward to competing in the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup again in 2021 and would like to thank Tony Gillham and Team Hard Racing for giving me this amazing opportunity, it’s a dream come true.

“2020 was a massive learning curve for me, moving from Mazdas to the Ginetta G55. I’d never raced with wets/slicks before and hadn’t been to three of the tracks in my life, so it was a big challenge.

“I’m hoping to build on that experience in 2021 and aim to achieve as many podiums as I possibly can, something that I didn’t manage in 2020. I believe I’m with the right team to help me reach my goals.”

After a partial campaign in 2020, Team HARD. Racing are making a full-time return to the series. The Kent based outfit have been regular front-runners in the series in recent years and took multiple class podium finishes with Mike Epps and Darron Lewis in 2019.

Tony Gilham, Team HARD. Racing Managing Director: “It’s great to have Joe on board with us for a full campaign in the GT4 SuperCup, which supports our BTCC programme. Joe had a solid season in 2020 considering he hadn’t turned a wheel in the Ginetta until a week or so before the season opener.

“To finish the year knocking on the door of the top five in the championship is quite some achievement as there are some very established drivers in this series. I love the fact that so far in Joe’s racing career it’s been family orientated and that fits our mould perfectly. He’s going to be a great asset to the team.”

The Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship. In 2021, the series will be contested over eight race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship.
