Elite Motorsport Confirm Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Duo

25th February 2021 • Simon Paice

Elite Motorsport have signed Tom Emson and Josh Rattican as their first two drivers for the 2021 Ginetta GT4 SuperCup.

Emson will be embarking on his fourth consecutive season of Ginetta competition this year. A race-winner during a spell in the Juniors, the Kent based racer went on to make his GT4 SuperCup debut at the end of 2019 before returning for a full campaign last year.

Settling into the Pro Am class from the second event of the season onwards, the 18 year old enjoyed a fantastic run of results. Finishing on the class podium in 15 out of 16 races, he impressively secured 11 wins, 10 fastest laps and a 100% pole position record.

As announced earlier this week, Rattican is stepping up to the GT4 SuperCup for the first time this year after being crowned the 2020 Junior vice-champion. He continues with an Elite Motorsport team who are determined to reclaim the GT4 SuperCup title they won with Harry King in 2019.

Eddie Ives, team principal: “I’m very happy that Tom [Emson] and Josh [Rattican] are racing for us this year. Tom has a season of GT4 under his belt where he adapted very well from Juniors.

“Josh now has that transition to make, but after his excellent Junior season last year, I’m sure he’ll adjust to GT4 quickly. I’m sure both Tom and Josh will score good results this season. We’ll be running three cars in the GT4 SuperCup and will be announcing our third driver in the coming weeks.”

The Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship. In 2021, the series will be contested over eight race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship.
