Adam Smalley will return for a second season in the Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup this year with Elite Motorsport and new title sponsor Optimum Pay Group.

Adam Smalley Targets Title Challenge In 2021 Ginetta GT4 SuperCup

A brilliant first season in the GT4 SuperCup last year was the latest step of Smalley’s impressive rise up the Ginetta ladder. The Lancashire based racer started his career as the Junior scholarship winner and went on to secure the 2017 Winter Series and the 2018 overall titles.

After mounting a title challenge in the GT5 Challenge in 2019, the 20 year old stepped up to the GT4 SuperCup last season. After winning only his sixth race in the series, he scored a total of 10 podium finishes over the season and was the highest points scorer across the last 10 races.

Having already written his name into the record books as only the second driver ever to win races in the three Ginetta championships, he will now be aiming to join an elite club with Tom Ingram and Charlie Robertson by winning both the Juniors and GT4 SuperCup titles.

Adam Smalley: “I’m delighted to be back on the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup grid for 2021. I feel that I gained a lot of momentum last season and I really think that we can build on that to be in strong contention for the title.

“Having been a part of Elite Motorsport for the past three seasons, I have built an excellent connection with them as well as all the people around me to maximise not only my own performance, but the teams as well.

“Having the support from my title sponsor, Optimum Pay Group, as well as all my other partners, I’m really excited to see what we can do in 2021.”

Carl Boulton, Optimum Pay Group CEO: “We are really excited to join Adam and the Elite Motorsport family. As a group of companies, we believe in partnership, family and growth, so when I spoke to Adam, this was a perfect opportunity for us all, to continue our growth.

“Having recently extended our group of companies into marketing, advertising, events and of course the exciting global payroll arm, we look forward to seeing Adam grow and have a successful year on track and off.”

Smalley will be embarking on his fourth consecutive season racing with Elite Motorsport this year. He completes their three car line-up for the GT4 SuperCup, joining fellow Junior graduates Tom Emson and Josh Rattican.

Eddie Ives, team principal: “I’m delighted to have Adam [Smalley] with us again. We first ran him in 2018 when he won the Junior title then scored 10 GT5 podiums the following year. His pace in his first season of SuperCup last year was very impressive. I’ve no doubt that Adam will be challenging for race wins again and hopefully the outright title this season.”

The Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup is Ginetta’s flagship championship. In 2021, the series will be contested over eight race weekends in support of the British Touring Car Championship.
