  • Fibreglass GRP Laminator

    About us:

    Since then, ‘The British Motorsport Company’ has enjoyed rapid expansion; scaling up production to support global exports, running multiple successful domestic championships and expanding its offering with supporting brands including Want2race, Blyton Park and Sim Track.

    About the role:

    We are recruiting for self-motivated GRP laminators to join our Ginetta team of fibre glass laminators. You will be producing the bodywork for a large number of production road and race cars, supporting the manufacturing plant.

    As a Fibreglass GRP laminator, it will be your job to:

    • Clean/Wax/Prep moulds for lay up
    • Apply various agents/material identification
    • Gel coat application/laminate
    • Carry out general housekeeping duties- changing barrels/filling recycling bins/unpacking goods-in deliveries

     The successful candidate will:

    • Be self-motivated, be able to work alone as well as part of a team, with the flexibility to meet deadlines.
    • Have great work ethic, taking pride in their work and being punctual
    • Be eager to learn and develop
    • Previous experience of using hand tools
    • Have a background in engineering

    Although a good GRP background is preferred it is not essential, provided candidates have a good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

  • Race Mechanic (Want2Race – Blyton Park)

    Want2Race is an exciting and dynamic company that has grown to become one of the most high-end renowned name around motorsport paddocks.

    Based at Ginetta’s own test track, Blyton Park, Want2Race remodelled from their previous business of running track days, to facilitating rookie racing and support throughout the drivers’ maiden season of Ginetta GT Academy.

    Want2Race focuses on driver development with Ginetta’s fleet of cars and providing exceptional support during test days and race weekends for the GT Academy rookies, enabling new drivers to gain confidence and grow their skills as a race driver.

    The Role

    The ideal candidate will have a professional, forward thinking and positive approach to managing all aspects of the W2R track support and workshop activities. A clear communicator and can-do attitude with focus on quality of work carried out and excellence in customer service.

    Salary – £23,000-£25,000

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Professional presentation of track & race cars both mechanically & aesthetically at events
    • Support customers at track events including track days, testing and race weekends.
    • Carry out preparation of race vehicles to a high standard in the workshop
    • Maintain race vehicles and track day customer vehicles to high standard
    • Professional appearance of team workshop and trucks at all times

    Key Skills:

    • Great communicator and customer service.
    • Hands on approach and good work ethic.
    • Presentable with attention to detail who takes pride in their work.
    • Team player with a passion for motorsport.

    Additional Info:

    • Based predominantly at Blyton Park Circuit Lincolnshire
    • Weekend work as required to look after W2R’s rookie race series drivers. Fixed rate overtime paid.
    • Event work and travel essential as part of the role.

  • Mechanical Design Engineer

    About the role:

    Ginetta is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Mechanical Design and 3D modelling of all areas of road and race vehicles including but not limited to suspension, cooling, chassis, bodywork and drivetrain installation.
    • Creation of 2D drawings for manufacture of Machined, Fabricated and composite components/assemblies.
    • Build Support (prototype and production)
    • Assembly tooling design
    • BOM Creation and management
    • Liaising with internal and external suppliers to ensure design intent is realised.

    Attributes:

    • Experience in automotive/motorsport or similar industry
    • CATIA V5 and/or SolidWorks experience
    • Excellent GD&T knowledge
    • Ability to perform hand calculations
    • Knowledge of applicable, cost effective manufacturing methods
    • Experience of designing composite components and tooling beneficial.
    • CATIA V5 Generative Surface / Generative Shape Design experience would be advantageous.
    • Team player both in the design team and company as a whole
    • Have great engineering perception and problem solving skills
    • Well-motivated with good self-management skills
    • Strong attention to detail

    A background in manufacturing/assembly is preferred, and any experience/competencies within the automotive industry would be beneficial. Having a genuine interest in Motorsport is also recommended.     As a bodywork assembly engineer, you will be producing a number of component assemblies to support the manufacture and maintenance of number of road and race cars. Bodywork, headlights, door mechanisms all need to be assembled to the highest possible standards.

    A background in manufacturing/assembly is preferred but not essential, and any experience/competencies within the automotive industry would be beneficial. Having a genuine interest in Motorsport is also recommended.
