Ginetta Announces France Expansion With New Cup Series For 2026

Ginetta Cars is set to strengthen its international presence with the launch of the Ginetta Cup France in 2026, a major step in the continued global expansion of its renowned motorsport ladder.

The new series will be run in partnership with the Championnat de France FFSA GT, as a dedicated Ginetta Championship within one of Europe’s most prestigious GT racing platforms. This collaboration combines SRO’s world-leading event platform with Ginetta’s proven, purpose-built race cars – creating an unrivalled ecosystem for driver development and team progression.

For over two decades, Ginetta has been a global reference point in spec racing, delivering accessible, professional motorsport pathways across multiple GT categories. Between 2023 and 2025 alone, no fewer than 48 Ginetta drivers progressed into the highly competitive British GT Championship, underlining the effectiveness of Ginetta’s driver ladder concept.

Now, that same pathway arrives in France.

A New Opportunity for Emerging French & European Talent

The Ginetta Cup France will be built around the highly successful Ginetta G56 GT Academy car. Produced in the hundreds since its launch in 2021, the G56 GTA delivers the performance, balance and feel of a modern GT race car while offering European drivers a direct entry into professionally supported GT racing. This development aligns with Ginetta’s mission to make professional motorsport more accessible without compromising performance.

Whether stepping up from karting, transitioning from touring cars or pursuing motorsport as a serious amateur, the G56 GTA offers one of the most compelling and aspirational entry points into professional GT racing anywhere in Europe.

This new French programme is designed to mirror the successful Ginetta ladder seen in the UK and beyond, giving French drivers and teams a clear, structured route from grassroots racing through to elite GT competition.

Racing on Europe’s Most Iconic Circuits

The 2026 Championnat de France FFSA GT calendar features five high-profile race weekends, visiting some of French most iconic circuits and also the legendary Spa-Francorchamps:

  • 4–6 April – Circuit Paul Armagnac de Nogaro, France
  • 15–17 May – Circuit de Dijon-Prenois, France
  • 19–21 June – Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium
  • 31 July –2 August – Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, France
  • 09–11 October – Circuit Paul Ricard, France

Competing on France’s most evocative tracks, the Ginetta Cup France will deliver an aspirational and professional environment for drivers, supported by strong media exposure and premium marketing opportunities.

A True Endurance Experience

The Ginetta Cup will feature as a dedicated classification within Championnat de France FFSA GT race weekends, providing drivers with experience of the endurance format fundamental to modern GT racing.

As the marquee series of the FFSA French Circuit Championship, FFSA GT will give the Ginetta Cup France increased visibility along with additional benefits, such as pit-garage allocation.

The event schedule will include:

  • Two 60-minute Free Practice sessions
  • Two 20-minute Qualifying sessions
  • Two 60-minute Feature Races including mandatory pit stops at four of the five events
  • Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, will feature a highlight two-hour endurance race

Drivers may compete solo as a Am driver, or in multi driver lineups consisting of Pro (Silver) / Am. Competing on the championship’s main FFSA GT stage will bring increased prestige, exposure and commercial value for both drivers and teams.

Driving the Future of French GT Racing

With this expansion into France, Ginetta reinforces its mission to make professional motorsport more accessible without compromising on performance, professionalism or prestige.

The Ginetta Cup France represents not just a championship, but a gateway from ambition to achievement. From national competition to international GT racing. From dream to reality.

The 2026 Ginetta Cup France entry fee is set at €16,000 for the full season, representing the strongest blend of value, performance and visibility in French Motorsport. This competitive structure is supported by SRO Motorsports Group, making the championship accessible to a wide range of teams and drivers.

The best evaluated Silver driver in a Pro/Am lineup will win the equivalent of €50,000 for a seat in a Ginetta G56 GT4 Evo in the 2027 Championnat de France FFSA GT

The best evaluated Am driver will win the equivalent of €20,000 towards a drive in a Ginetta G56 GT2 in 2027 GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli.

Support

CMR, acting as Ginetta Cars French Distributor, will work closely with SRO Motorsports Group to help teams transition to the Ginetta Cup, offering commercial and technical support to teams and drivers. CMR will be supporting customers with parts supply in France and at the racing events. Test drives in the Ginetta G56 GTA car are available in France.

Mike Simpson – Ginetta CEO: “I am thrilled to launch the Ginetta Cup in France with our partners SRO and CMR. The Ginetta G56 GT Academy car plays the most important role in motor racing – the start. The car is engineered to lay the key driving foundations for young Silver drivers and aspiring Bronze Amateur drivers. It is a very rewarding and capable car that delivers fantastic performance, for even better value.

“The concept adopted by SRO Motorsports Group and CMR will see new drivers and teams enter the sport from different levels, and I have no doubt will be seen as a major lifeline supply in French Motorsport.”

Laurent Gaudin – General Manager, Championnat de France FFSA des Circuits: “The integration of the Ginetta Cup France into the Championnat de France FFSA GT is an excellent addition to the GT4 category that has been in place since 2017. As we saw when they joined the field experimentally during our event at Spa-Francorchamps, the Ginetta G56 GTA offers a very interesting level of performance for controlled costs.

“Ginetta Cup France crews will benefit from advantageous entry fees, and we will be able to offer a true pyramid with GT4 at the top of the rankings.”
