The highlight last time out was an incredible duel for victory between title contenders Will Martin (Richardson Racing) and Zak O\u2019Sullivan (R Racing), which ITV4 commentator Paul O\u2019Neill described as \u201cthe best thing I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d High praise indeed.<\/p>\n
It was a big weekend for both drivers as they closed the gap on championship leader James Hedley (Elite Motorsport). The reigning Winter Series champion still has a healthy advantage though courtesy of a fantastic record of 14 podium finishes in the 17 races so far.\n <\/p>\n
Martin prevailed over O\u2019Sullivan in their epic to make it seven victories this season for him, while O\u2019Sullivan is on a run of five consecutive top three finishes. He\u2019s also the leader in the Rookie standings, with five-time class winner Casper Stevenson (Richardson Racing) his closest adversary.\n <\/p>\n
Stevenson has impressively finished off the rookie podium just once in the last 14 races, while two other rookies to have shone in recent weekends are Josh Rattican and his new R Racing team-mate Joel Pearson, with three podiums each in the last couple of meetings.\n <\/p>\n
Only six drivers on the grid have raced at Knockhill in the series before, including James Taylor (Elite Motorsport) and Ethan Hawkey (Richardson Racing). Both are regularly in the mix at the front of the field, with Taylor having been a double race-winner in the first half of the season.\n <\/p>\n
Two of the most exciting drivers on the grid to watch this year have been Douglas Motorsport team-mates Gus Burton and Lorcan Hanafin. Expect more thrills from them this weekend as they target more podium finishes, with Burton having picked up a couple last time out.\n <\/p>\n
Four drivers preparing to cross the border in confident mood after securing seasons\u2019 best results at Thruxton are Premiership Academy Racing\u2019s Ben O\u2019Hare and Molly Dodd, Bailey Voisin (Douglas Motorsport) and current Ginetta Junior scholar Ethan Brooks (TCR).\n <\/p>\n
The ultra-competitive midfield battles have seen no less than 21 different drivers finish in the top ten this season, including Tom Emson (Elite Motorsport) Ben Kasperczak (Privateer), Frankie Taylor (SVG Motorsport), Freddie Tomlinson (Douglas Motorsport) and Haytham Qarajouli (TCR).\n <\/p>\n
