{"id":7890,"date":"2026-06-29T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginetta.com\/?p=7890"},"modified":"2026-06-29T08:14:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T07:14:18","slug":"cranham-and-bartle-victorious-on-croft-sunday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginetta.com\/us\/news\/cranham-and-bartle-victorious-on-croft-sunday\/","title":{"rendered":"Cranham And Bartle Victorious On Croft Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Riley Cranham and Harry Bartle took a win apiece across a dramatic day of Ginetta Junior Championship powered by Sunoco Race Fuels competition as the 2026 Ginetta Festival at Croft came to a close on Sunday (28 June).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><u>Qualifying<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Cranham enjoyed the perfect start to Sunday, going fastest overall in qualifying for the first time this season. He secured a double pole position leading an R Racing one-two-three at the top of the timesheets, with championship leader Lewis Goff hot on his heels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesse Phillips was a seasons\u2019 best third quickest ahead of Saturday race-winner Harrison Mackie (Elite Motorsport) and Josh Watts (Performance One), while Ginetta Junior Scholarship winner Devon Hagelen (Elite Motorsport) was another to secure their best qualifying result so far in sixth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><u>Race Three<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening race of the day proved to be one of the most action-packed of the 2026 season so far. Cranham led away from pole with Goff tucking in behind, while Mackie made a quick move on Phillips for third position. Another early riser was Watts, getting up to fourth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Goff attempted a move for the lead into Tower on lap two but couldn\u2019t make it stick. He was successful a couple of laps later into the hairpin though, however his advantage lasted the length of the pit straight before Cranham fought back into Clervaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Goff was shuffled back to fourth in the process, with Mackie and Phillips getting involved. That started a titanic battle over second, with Jacob Ashcroft (Elite Motorsport) and Bartle (Pace Performance) entering the equation too. The five-way scrap allowed Cranham to start breaking away at the front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mackie and Phillips traded second place between them, before Ashcroft picked them both off through the Complex. Phillips hit back with a decisive move for second on lap ten, leaving Mackie and Ashcroft to fight for third on the last lap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mackie got down the inside at Sunny for third, with Ashcroft being edged wide in the process. As Cranham secured the race victory by three seconds, Phillips was second on the road however a one-position post-race penalty put him back behind Mackie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Goff was fourth across the line, however a five-second penalty for track limits infringements put him back to ninth in the final result. Bartle therefore picked up a fourth-place finish ahead of Ashcroft and Max Murray (R Racing), while Sebastien Leusch (R Racing) climbed from 15<sup>th<\/sup> on the grid to seventh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daniel Oliver (Elite Motorsport) was another to make forward progress to eighth, while behind Goff, Hagelen rounded out the top ten ahead of his Elite Motorsport team-mate Henry Cameron. Melvin Kalousdian (R Racing) had finished 11<sup>th<\/sup>, but a five-second track limits penalty dropped him three spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addison Smith (MDD Motorsport) and Vladislav Tomenchuk (Elite Motorsport) gained a place therefore, while Dominic Darling (Performance One) and Jorn Helder (Project R) moved up a spot at the expense of Noah Young (Performance One), another to be penalised for track limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MK Racing team-mates Ethan Brass and Bailey Doughty, plus Elite Motorsport\u2019s debutant Ian Danicska, secured the final points scoring spots. Missing out was Watts, who had been fourth early on before losing ground on track and also receiving a 15-second track limits penalty to finish 23<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><u>Race Four<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The final race of the weekend proved to be a stop-start encounter, due to a couple of red flag stoppages. At the initial start, Ashcroft made the first move as he picked off Goff at Tower for second on lap two, before pulling off the same move next time round to grab the lead from Cranham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cranham attempted to regain lost ground on the next lap at Barcroft, however slight contact sent Ashcroft onto the grass and into the barriers. This brought out the first red flag to allow for the recovery of his McLaren Papaya-liveried machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the restart, Goff tried to go around the outside of Cranham for the lead at Tower, but only ended up opening the door for Phillips to snatch second. Goff got the spot back on the next lap though, a switchback through Barcroft setting him up for a move into Sunny In, with Bartle following through to third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The race was halted again at this point, after Smith and Helder came together at Sunny Out. It ended up being a two-lap sprint to the finish, and while the first of those laps was relatively quiet, the final tour was an absolute thriller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bartle passed Phillips for third into Clervaux and found himself in the lead battle exiting Tower. The top two ahead found themselves running side-by-side through the Jim Clark Esses, with Cranham just clinging on around the outside as Bartle dived down the inside of Goff for second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mackie also took advantage of the melee to move up to third at the expenses of Phillips and Goff, the latter unfortunate to lose three places. Cranham went on to take the chequered flag first, however post-race he was penalised with a four-position penalty due to contact in the race with Goff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bartle\u2019s last lap opportunism was therefore rewarded with his second win of the season ahead of Mackie and Phillips, with Goff classified fourth ahead of Cranham. Red Bull Junior Team driver &nbsp;Kalousdian picked up his best result of the weekend in sixth ahead of Hagelen, Oliver, Murray and Watts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cameron was the big mover of the race, gaining eight positions en-route to 11<sup>th<\/sup> ahead of Leusch and Young.
