Silverstone has played host to more than 175 races for the Ginetta UK Championships<\/a> over the years, providing plenty of memorable moments and fantastic action along the way.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018Home of British Motor Racing\u2019 has served up some pivotal moments in the current championships in recent years. The Ginetta Junior Championship, powered by Sunoco Race Fuels, has seen monumental racing at Silvertone over our history. It is one of only two circuits to have held races every year since the series was formed in 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silverstone was the scene of the landmark 500th<\/sup> ever Ginetta Junior race last season. The race was won by Rocco Coronel on his march to the title. This coming weekend is set to see another milestone race in Northamptonshire too. Silverstone is hosting its 70th<\/sup> Ginetta Junior race in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within those, the 1.64-mile National layout created two of the three closest race finishes in championship history. Wins for Aston Millar (2021) and James Taylor (2019) were decided by just one hundredth and two hundredths of a second respectively. Expect more close racing and finishes this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Ginetta<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

On the other side of the record books, the biggest ever victory in the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship so far came at Silverstone as Conner Garlick mastered changing conditions to secure victory by over 20 seconds. That came in 2024, on a weekend where he and brother Luke Garlick shared the spoils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year meanwhile, Archie Clark picked up both GT Championship victories as he continued a bright start to the campaign that eventually led to title glory. As the new season gets underway this weekend, keep an eye out on who takes the race wins to see if history ends up repeating itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ginetta GT Academy first visited Silverstone for the penultimate round of its inaugural season in 2021. It proved to be a landmark weekend as Toby Trice and Angus Whiteside became the first-ever GTA and Rookie champions respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following year, three-time Ginetta champion turned 2025 British GT4 victor Marc Warren won twice at Silverstone. Ravi Ramyead remarkably won five races at the circuit in 2023. In the last couple of seasons, three of the four wins went to James Nicholas. He feature on the top step of the podium again this weekend as he steps up to the GT Championship?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest chapter of Silverstone\u2019s story with the Ginetta UK Championships will feature five races. The Juniors are set for another triple-header this year. Plus, a new era for a combined GT Championship and GT Academy grid begins with a couple of 25-minute sprints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
