{"id":7590,"date":"2026-04-20T08:35:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T07:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginetta.com\/?p=7590"},"modified":"2026-04-21T09:54:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T08:54:17","slug":"preview-2026-ginetta-gt-championship-silverstone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginetta.com\/us\/news\/preview-2026-ginetta-gt-championship-silverstone\/","title":{"rendered":"Preview: 2026 Ginetta GT Championship \u2013 Silverstone"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>A new season and a new era for the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship gets underway this weekend (25-26 April) with two races around the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first time, the GT Championship will share a grid with the Ginetta GT Academy for its races this year. The aspiring GT drivers will race identical V8-powered Ginetta G56 GTP8\u2019s, with the GT Championship entry running to a two-class format for PRO and AM drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Harry Gamble (Elite Motorsport) is the highest placed returning driver from 2025, having finished third overall in the standings last year. He impressively secured two overall race victories on his way to the PRO AM class title, and will now step up to the headline PRO category for the new campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cameron Pratt-Thompson (SVG Motorsport) is another driver returning for his second season of GT Championship action. He\u2019ll have high hopes heading to Silverstone this weekend, having secured his one and only Ginetta podium finish so far on the Grand Prix circuit last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joining Gamble in stepping up from PRO AM to PRO this season is Alex Duncan (Xentek Motorsport). The Scotland-based racer impressed in his debut car-racing campaign with seven class podiums and he will now have breaking into the overall top three in his sights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After stepping up from Ginetta Juniors to make his GT Championship debut in the 2025 season finale, Felix Livesey is back for a full-season as part of a strong PRO entry from Orion SPR. He\u2019s joined by GT Academy podium-finisher Louis Darling and karting graduate William Antrobus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Orion SPR\u2019s entry for 2026 is completed by AM class contender Lucie Hodgson, who moves up the Ginetta ladder after two years in the GT Academy. Her competition includes car-racing debutant Elliot Foster, who is running with reigning PRO champions MDD Motorsport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Completing the AM entry are the top two drivers from the GT Academy last year, James Nicholas and Jamie Caudle with E3 Sport.
