A former multiple karting champion, Hills initially started car racing in rallycross, with an impressive start seeing him crowned the MSA British Junior Rallycross Series champion in his debut season. Further front-running success followed in the Swift Rallycross Championship.\n <\/p>\n
In 2017, Hills moved across into circuit competition in the Mazda MX-5 Supercup. Picking up the Rookie of the Year award in his first year, he went on to finish third overall in each of the next two seasons. In 2019, he was also the first ever champion of the BRSCC Clubsport trophy.\n <\/p>\n
After sitting out the 2020 season to focus on starting up his race team Hills Motorsport, the 25 year old from West Sussex is excited to return to racing this year and make his debut in one-make Ginetta competition.\n <\/p>\n
Aidan Hills: \u201cWe have looked at Ginetta as the next logical step in my racing career for a few years, with it being rear wheel drive and a few other MX-5 drivers making the step up it’s always been in our minds. <\/em>\n <\/p>\n \u201cI watched a few of the GT5 Challenge races last season and really liked the look of it. The nature of the racing seemed similar to what I’m used to in the MX-5s but the cars are obviously quite a bit quicker and the championship is a higher profile, so it just seemed a bit of a no brainer. <\/em>\n <\/p>\n \u201cIt’s hard to have ambitions for a first season in a new series, but I’m coming from winning a few races and always being in and around the top three in MX-5s, I\u2019m used to being at the front. I don\u2019t expect to be there straight away in the GT5\u2019s, I\u2019ve got a hell of a lot to learn first, but hopefully by the end of the season we won’t be too far away.\u201d<\/em>\n <\/p>\n Packed grids and close racing makes the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge a popular entry-level championship for many aspiring GT racers.
