Five days prior to his 14<sup>th<\/sup> birthday, he emerged from a competitive group of 50 young drivers as the latest winner of one of the biggest prizes in British motorsport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second-ever Dutch talent to become a Ginetta Junior Scholar, Hagelen secured a fully-funded season in the Ginetta Junior Championship for 2026. He will be aiming to replicate the success of his compatriots Robert de Haan and Rocco Coronel. They both won the rookie title in their debut Ginetta seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hagelen is the second consecutive scholar to sign with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elitemotorsport.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Elite Motorsport<\/a>. He follows in the footsteps of 2025 overall vice-champion Fred Green. He has already got his winter testing programme underway with the team, ahead of his championship debut at Donington Park in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Devon Hagelen: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI am very happy and proud to have chosen Elite Motorsport as the team where I will be racing with in the 2026 Ginetta Junior Championship. I chose Elite because the connection with Ed [Ives] felt really good straight from the beginning.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe team is really eager to win and has proven to be very competitive for many years. I can\u2019t wait to show Ed, the team and everybody that I am a deserved scholarship winner. I<\/em> <em>will fight hard for those victories in 2026!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elite Motorsport will be embarking on their 12<sup>th<\/sup> consecutive season in the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2026. The Norfolk-based squad are one of the most successful teams in series history. They have four drivers\u2019 titles, three teams\u2019 titles, 76 race wins and over 250 podium finishes under their belt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Eddie Ives \u2013 Elite Motorsport Team Principal: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to welcome Devon [Hagelen] to Elite Motorsport for the 2026 Ginetta Junior season. It offers the first step on the motorsport ladder for 14-17 year old racing drivers.
