He followed that up with spells in the G50 Cup and GT5 Challenge.<\/p>\n<p>The Yorkshireman also got behind the wheel of Ginetta\u2019s for two campaigns in the British GT Championship. He shared a G50 GT4 with Ginetta chairman Lawrence Tomlinson in 2009, and then four years later raced a G55 GT3 alongside Mike Simpson.<\/p>\n<p>Sykes\u2019 move into the GT Academy means he will have raced five different models of Ginetta in total; the G20, G40, G50, G55 and G56. He will compete this season with want2race in the GTA class.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Sykes:\u00a0<em>\u201c<\/em><em>I love racing and after having a bit of a break, Lawrence [Tomlinson] has tempted me back. The GT Academy is a great series for me to ease myself back in, with the beautiful G56 being one of the best all round cars I\u2019ve ever driven. I\u2019m looking forward to racing against such a cross section of drivers, with a good mix of young and old, experienced and rookies.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Ginetta GT Academy gives drivers of all experience levels the opportunity to enjoy entry level GT racing.
