An impressive combination of speed and consistency has put Connor Grady into the championship lead with reigning champions Xentek Motorsport. The experienced GT5 Challenge racer has taken two race victories and is the only driver in the top six of the standings to have finished every race so far.<\/p>\n
Will Jenkins (Elite Motorsport) is right on his tail, having impressively moved from 39 points shy of the championship lead to just one point last time out at Silverstone. He\u2019s scored more race wins (three) and podium finishes (six) than anyone else on the grid.\n <\/p>\n
It was Nat Hodgkiss (Race Car Consultants) who led the points into Silverstone before encountering a tough couple of races. He\u2019ll be determined to bounce back this weekend and add to his five podium finishes so far, which includes the opening win of the season at Oulton Park.\n <\/p>\n
Harley Haughton (Elite Motorsport) is proving to be the qualifying king at the moment with double pole positions in each of the last two meetings at Donington Park and Silverstone, while Will Orton (Race Car Consultants) has also made his mark recently with a race win in each of those outings.\n <\/p>\n
Nine drivers have stepped up on the overall podium so far this season, with 2021 front-runner Mikey Doble (Xentek Motorsport) having picked up a couple, while it\u2019s one each for reigning Am class champion Harry Mangion (Elite Motorsport) and TCR duo Sam Smith and Ruben Hage.\n <\/p>\n
The hugely competitive GT5 Pro class also features Will Rochford (TCR) and Aidan Hills (Aidan Hills Motorsport), front-runners in the championship last year, three drivers making great progress in their debut campaigns; Dave Sutton (Team Avago), Kian Donaldson (Race Car Consultants) and Sam Harvey (Xentek Motorsport), plus debutant Fraser Fenwick (AB Motorsport).\n <\/p>\n
Karim Sekkat (Elite Motorsport) is currently leading the way in the battle for the 2022 Am title, having moved to the top of the standings with a double win last time out. Forrmer leader Chris White (Raceway Motorsport) is seven points behind, having impressively won four of the eight races so far.\n <\/p>\n
Paolo Santi (Raceway Motorsport) took a win of his own back at Oulton Park, while Phil McGarty (Alastair Rushforth Motorsport) and Xentek Motorsport team-mates Gerson Zarpelao and Bal Sidhu have also picked up silverware this season. Fellow Xentek racer Neil Finnighan is aiming for his maiden podium.\n <\/p>\n
