{"id":498,"date":"2022-11-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginetta.com\/news\/british-endurance-championship-introduces-ginetta-supercup-class\/"},"modified":"2024-02-13T14:51:15","modified_gmt":"2024-02-13T14:51:15","slug":"british-endurance-championship-introduces-ginetta-supercup-class","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginetta.com\/us\/news\/british-endurance-championship-introduces-ginetta-supercup-class\/","title":{"rendered":"British Endurance Championship Introduces Ginetta SuperCup Class"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The latest chapter of a long-standing relationship between Ginetta and Britcar will bring the exciting, competitive racing seen in the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup for the last 11 years to a new, endurance format in one of the UK\u2019s leading GT championships.<\/p>\n<p>The 500bhp, V8 powered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginetta.com\/our-cars\/g56\/g56-gta\/\">G56<\/a> was introduced to the GT4 SuperCup for 2022 and proved an instant hit with drivers and fans alike. Its predecessor the G55, one of the most successful GT4 chassis\u2019 ever made. It has been a huge part of UK motorsport, including Britcar racing, for over a decade.<\/p>\n<p>Customers will get the opportunity to continue competing in these thoroughbred GT racers and experience top-level GT racing in the British Endurance Championship. The championship reached new heights for 2022 after being granted national status by the governing body Motorsport UK.<\/p>\n<p>The British Endurance Championship is contested across two and three hour races. The provisional 2023 calendar making visits to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silverstone.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Silverstone<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oultonpark.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oulton Park<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snetterton.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Snetterton<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donington-park.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donington Park<\/a>. Entrants benefit from the exposure of having all BEC race meetings streamed live on Facebook and YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>The new SuperCup class will be the second standalone Ginetta category within Britcar\u2019s stable of championships. It follows on from the successful addition of the Ginetta G40 Cup to the Britcar Trophy grid this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mike Simpson,<\/strong> <strong>Ginetta Head of Motorsport:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cGinetta have nearly 20 years racing relationship with Britcar and we are elated to find a new home for our G55 and G56 SuperCup GT4 cars.
