He will contest in the Protyre Motorsport GT Championship, sharing a grid with recently announced teammates- Hage and Garnett.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since making his Ginetta debut in 2020, Sekkat has had an impressive three-year campaign in the GT5 AM class. With six wins and sixteen podiums to his name, the Moroccan driver will be one of the most experienced competitors on the grid!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This season will mark his first year competing on a new championship grid, supported by a new team. New for 2023, the Protyre Motorsport GT Championship will consist of two main classes, GT5 and GT Pro, offering the next level of competition for new and experienced drivers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following his racing success within the GT5 class, Karim looks ahead and shares his thoughts about the championship season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Words from Karim Sekkat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Karim Sekkat, said:<\/strong> <em>\u201cHaving been with Elite Motorsport for the last five years, I enjoyed great support from the coaches, superb camaraderie and learnt so much from the mechanics. So a big thank you to them.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cMaybe I got too comfortable though and it\u2019s time to shake things up and see whether I have anything else left in the tank. I am really excited to make the switch to Breakell Racing and our ambition is clear; going straight to the top.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cOne thing is clear; I know that the Ginetta drivers are clearly within the best ones and now we have to see where we stand. It\u2019s difficult to really say because we don\u2019t yet know the competition in detail, so we just need to get this season under way.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Words from James Breakell<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James Breakell, Team Principal, said: <em>\u201c<\/em><\/strong><em>Karim [Sekkat] has many years of experience in the Ginetta G40\u2019s and I\u2019ve got no doubt he\u2019ll be a front-runner in the Am class once again.
