20th December 2018 • Simon Paice

Leading GT team In2Racing are entering the Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship for the first time next season, joining the grid with exciting rookie talent Zak Taylor.

The West Midlands based outfit will make their Ginetta racing debut as an established name in top-level GT competition in the UK, having secured multiple podium finishes in the British GT Championship and Porsche Carrera Cup GB in recent years.

Taylor meanwhile enters the series with a great pedigree in go-karting having competed in the Super One British Karting Championship over the past two seasons, while he tested a Ginetta G40 for the first time earlier this year during the Ginetta Junior Summer Camp at Blyton Park.

In2Racing have recruited a championship winning Ginetta engineer for their first season in the championship and have an extensive test programme planned in the coming months with Taylor and some other prospective drivers for the 2019 season.

Nick Dudfield, team principal: “The Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship is a proven training ground for young aspiring drivers to showcase their talents at a high-profile level.

“With drivers of the calibre of Lando Norris learning their trade in the series and McLaren Autosport BRDC Award winner Tom Gamble being a race winner in 2017, we firmly believe that the championship offers our drivers a great stepping stone up the motorsport ladder.

“Our drivers will benefit from our professional simulator and driver coaches, whilst an end of season test with the In2racing Porsche Carrera Cup GB team will be an amazing opportunity as part of our 2019 package.”

The Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship is the UK’s longest running and most prestigious Junior series, offering the first step on the motorsport ladder for 14-17 year old racing drivers as they compete on the support bill for the British Touring Car Championship.
