Geri Nicosia Teams With Quattro Motorsport For 2019 Ginetta GT5 Challenge

Geri Nicosia has joined Quattro Motorsport as he targets a title challenge in the 2019 Ginetta GT5 Challenge.

Nicosia has become a household name in Ginetta competition since making his debut in the Ginetta Junior Winter Series back in 2014. After finishing as the top rookie in that contest, he went on to contest two full campaigns in the series and took a race win and a top six points finish in 2016.

The Buckinghamshire racer sensationally recorded three wins in four races contested as he stepped up to the GT5 Challenge the following season, before a full campaign last year saw him take two more victories and five further podium finishes on his way to third in the championship.

With that experience under his belt, the 19 year old is now targeting an outright title challenge for 2019 as he signs with Quattro Motorsport, where he will join Am Class contender Dale Albutt in the York based team’s line-up.

Geri Nicosia: “I’m absolutely ecstatic to have signed for my second full season in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge with Quattro Motorsport, and for what will be my fifth consecutive year competing within the Ginetta ranks.”

“The deal to sign for Quattro materialised literally overnight and it was clear straight away that we all share the same ambition of winning the overall driver’s title. With the most comprehensive testing schedule I’ve had in the last few years, I’m feeling confident we can be right at the front come the first round of the season in April!”

Packed grids and close racing makes the Ginetta GT5 Challenge a popular entry-level championship for many aspiring GT racers. In 2019, the series will join the British GT Championship at four meetings and make two outings on the British Touring Car Championship support bill.
