G55 GT4 SHINES IN COTA TRANS-AM

7th November 2018 • Kelly Edmund

There was continued good success for the Ginetta G55 GT4 cars at the Circuit of the Americas this weekend in the Trans AM, underlining the Ginetta G55 as the class leading and world’s best GT4 car.

17 year old Ryan Dexter marked his first ever pro race and only his second ever in his G55 with a fine victory in the TA3 series. Running a very controlled race and gradually working his way up to second place, he then had a long battle for the lead, swapping the lead several times before securing the win in the 75 minute long race around the Texas grand prix venue.

Ryan was joined on the TA3 podium, with fellow Ginetta racer and TA3 championship leader, Alline Cipriani in her G55. Dexter commented “The car was awesome throughout. It’s so easy to learn to drive fast, and I was amazed at how consistent it remained throughout the entire race distance”

Meanwhile In the TA4 class older brother Warren made a Dexter family double win, when he secured his 6th victory of the season in his new G55, matching his younger siblings success. The 21 year old college student, studying mechanical engineering, Warren also does much of the mechanic work and chassis setup on the Dexter Racing Ginetta’s.

Warren has raced in the Trans Am TA4 class (GT4 spec) in six races this year, starting each race on pole and winning all of the races. This victory allowed Warren to wrap up the TA4 season points championship. Warren explained “What more can you ask for coming out of one weekend with two victories… we’re super happy with how the car has been running… and super excited about this year and looking forward to more in the future”. The Trans Am Series will now head to Daytona International Speedway, this coming weekend for the 2018 Trans Am Series Finale, where we will be behind all the G55s, particularly Alline Cipriani as she bids to seal the TA3 championship and seal a fine season for the female Brazilian racer.
