Ginetta teams continued to show strong form in the GT4 class of the British GT Championship on Saturday, with Alex Reed taking race-one pole position in the Lanan Racing G55, ahead of the HHC Motorsport entry that won last time out, qualified in this session by Will Tregurtha. Elsewhere in the class, the AutoAid/RCIB Racing Insurance Racing G55 of Michael Caine qualified seventh, just ahead of Graham Johnson in the championship-leading PMW/Optimum Motorsport, which qualified eighth. Anna Walewska put the first of the two Century Motorsport entries in the class 10th on the grid, while the second cars from Auto Aid/RCIB and Century qualified 14th and 16th respectively. Qualifying for race two saw Tregurtha’s co-driver Stuart Middleton secure the same second position for the HHC car for race two, making it two front-row starts on Sunday for the Ginetta Junior graduates. Lanan Racing qualified strongly here, too, Dave Pittard putting the squad’s G55 fourth on the grid for Sunday’s second encounter. The #43 Century Motorsport and #501 PMW/Optimum cars both qualified higher for race two than for race one, courtesy of Jacob Mathiassen and Mike Robinson respectively.
