MAX PROVES HE IS STILL THEPLAYER.CO.UK
MAX PROVES HE IS STILL THEPLAYER.CO.UK Scorton teenager Max Coates made an amazing comeback at Brands Hatch in theplayer.co.uk Ginetta G55, a car he drove for the first time and took to a competitive top five finish.

Treacherous conditions on Friday meant that the Lightwater Valley supported driver had limited time in his new car. Qualifying took place in dry conditions on Saturday morning which gained him a ninth place start for the first race in a car that he’d never taken around any track before.

His experience in race one allowed him to understand a car that he had just stepped into. A last lap battle with his team mate produced a photo finish in which Max claimed fifth by 0.020 seconds.

The #7 car would have started fifth on the grid for race two, unfortunately a drive shaft put paid to this and he had to start from the pit lane.  Max joined at the back of the field and then fought all the way through to a superb finish whilst showing race winning pace.

A brilliant first weekend in theplayer.co.uk Ginetta G55 in extreme weather conditions! Max has proved that he has the pace to run at the front of the 2013 championship battle.

Max is back in 2013 for the season opener with BTCC at Brands Hatch in April.
