The Ginetta Junior Championship can today confirm another top name set for the BTCC-supporting series, as 15-year old Jack Rawles has announced his participation for 2013.
After finishing second in the rookie class of the ATL Racing Fuel Cells Ginetta Junior Winter Series, the young driver from Hampshire has his sights set on the Rookie cup crown in the main championship this season.
Former minimax star Rawles brings with him a wealth of Ginetta Junior driving experience, after testing with Tollbar Racing throughout 2012. He said; “I am excited to finally get myself on the Ginetta Junior Championship grid.
“Having spent plenty of time testing, and of course competing in the Ginetta Junior Scholarship and ATL Racing Fuel Cells Ginetta Junior Winter Series; putting my experiences into practise against my peers is what it was all building up to.”
Lawrence Tomlinson, Ginetta Chairman said; “It’s great to see Jack on the grid for 2013; he impressed us at the Ginetta Junior Scholarship two years in a row with a combination of his driving skill and knowledge of the business.
“Not only does Jack have the on-track experience, he also understands the core values of Ginetta and what makes the business tick. I am looking forward to seeing how he gets on against competitors old and new.”
The two-time Ginetta Junior Scholarship finalist, who also enjoys drawing, motorsport film making and downhill mountain biking, has been aiming to join a televised single-make series for the past four years, and thanks to backing from monsterwraps.co.uk, 2013 looks set to make that dream a reality.
