Yorkshire’s own Marcus Hoggarth has signed up for another season in the Ginetta GT Supercup, after today announcing plans to once again run with JHR Developments for his third full season of racing.
The York-based driver finished within the top ten of the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) qualifying championship in 2012, and having now driven every track visited by the championship, he is hoping for rapid progress in 2013.
Hoggarth said; “I’m aiming for champagne and silverware this year; whilst I had a few unlucky outings in 2012 with seven DNF’s - we can say some of that is down to lack of experience - I still managed to finish within the top ten. Now having driven the various circuits going into this season, I have to be moving up the grid….”
JHR Developments Team Principal Steven Hunter is looking forward to welcoming Marcus back into the paddock, saying; “We are delighted to have Marcus back as part of JHR Developments for 2013, he should be coming back stronger than ever this season and we have little doubt he’ll make it onto the podium. Not only is he a great driver, but he is a great person to have around the awning with his infectious personality and humour.”
This year, Hoggarth looks forward to the new backing of IAC Acoustics, the world's leading supplier of noise and acoustic control products as well as heat sealing specialists ProSeal.
Set to join his former teammate Tom Ingram and championship newcomer Rob Boston at the JHR Developments team, the company director is certainly one to watch around the paddock.
